Grateful for You. Looking Ahead to a New Year in the Lowcountry

Happy New Year!

My name is Sasha Horne-Hirshout, creator of The Beaufort Blog. From my family to yours, thank you for welcoming us into your inbox and for making us your go-to guide for things to do and places to see in Beaufort and the Sea Islands.

As a Beaufort native, it has meant more to me than I can easily put into words to once again live, work, and raise my daughter in Port Royal, the town where I grew up. Over the past year, I have had the opportunity to reconnect (and meet) so many of you out in the community while covering stories, events, and people featured in our monthly guides. Those moments of connection are what continue to shape this work.

Earlier this year, we launched A Lowcountry Love Story, a monthly series dedicated to stories of love, loss, and resilience.

In the spirit of love and new beginnings, some personal news, we eloped!

We eloped! Want to share your love story? Email me: thebeaufortblog@gmail.com

Love takes many forms and looks different in every season of life. This space exists to honor connection across the Lowcountry.

Couples. Families. Friends. Chosen family. Everyone is welcome here.

Small Business Partnerships

For our local small business community, I am excited to share that we are partnering with The Island News, the only locally owned newspaper serving Beaufort and the Sea Islands.

If you are looking to connect your business with local readers through thoughtful, community-centered advertising and partnerships, I invite you to reach out to me directly at sasha.theislandnews@gmail.com.

Lowcountry Creators Club

Finally, if you are a creator or maker looking to increase visibility for your work, build multiple revenue streams, or expand your reach, the Lowcountry Creators Club may be a great fit for you. We meet on the fourth Tuesday of each month and bring together writers, filmmakers, artists, podcasters, and entrepreneurs from across the region. The club is also connected to our ongoing podcast conversations, where we highlight creative work, process, and local projects. If you are interested in participating in a meetup or being featured on the podcast, I encourage you to reach out.

Our next meeting is Tuesday, January 27 at 5:30 PM at The Beaufort Digital Corridor.
