The Lowcountry has long been a place where culture, history, and creativity intersect. From Gullah storytelling to local entrepreneurship, the Sea Islands are home to a deep tradition of artistry and innovation. The new Lowcountry Creators Club builds on that legacy, providing a monthly gathering space for creators, small business owners, and community leaders to connect, collaborate, and grow together.

A Hub for Creativity and Growth

The Lowcountry Creators Club is designed for anyone with a passion for building and sharing ideas. Members include content creators, artists, photographers, podcasters, and entrepreneurs, as well as nonprofits and community advocates. The group’s purpose is to harness the power of storytelling and digital creativity to support cultural tourism and small business development across Beaufort and the Sea Islands.

Founded by Beaufort native Sasha Horne—who recently returned home after more than a decade in Los Angeles working in the startup and creative industries—the club reflects both local roots and global experience. Through her work with Sasha Talks Tech, Horne built connections in the national creator economy and now seeks to bring that energy back to her hometown.

“The Lowcountry is rich with talent and untapped stories,” Horne said. “By creating a space for creators to come together, we’re not only fostering collaboration but also building a stronger foundation for cultural tourism and small business support in our community.”

September Meetup Details

The next Lowcountry Creators Club event will take place on Tuesday, September 23, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at BaseCamp, located at the Beaufort Digital Corridor. The evening will feature networking opportunities, a collaborative workshop on content planning for the fall season, and an open Q&A on trends and tools shaping the creator economy.

A Monthly Gathering

The Lowcountry Creators Club meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month, providing an ongoing space for collaboration, skill-sharing, and inspiration. Each session highlights different aspects of creative work, from digital storytelling and photography to social media strategy and community partnerships.

Why It Matters

By bringing together creators across disciplines, the club is building a network that supports both individual growth and regional impact. The focus on cultural tourism and small business storytelling ensures that the creativity fostered here directly benefits the wider community, amplifying the stories that make the Lowcountry unique.

For those looking to find their creative community in Beaufort, the Lowcountry Creators Club offers both connection and opportunity.
