At the heart of Beaufort's tech and entrepreneurship movement is the Beaufort Digital Corridor (BDC), a city-supported, community-powered nonprofit building the backbone of Beaufort's innovation economy. And this year, BDC is celebrating a major milestone: ten years of growing the region's tech and startup economy.
Ten Years and Counting
The Beaufort Digital Corridor is marking a decade of impact with its 10th Anniversary Celebration, happening Thursday, August 27, from 5:30 to 9 p.m., at BDC's BASEcamp facility in downtown Beaufort (500 Carteret Street, Suite D).
The event is open to the public and will bring together BDC members, alumni companies, city leaders, and community partners to look back on ten years of growth, and look ahead under new leadership.
That new leadership comes in the form of Executive Director Arthur "AJ" Jackson III, a former tech startup co-founder and UNC Chapel Hill graduate who took the helm in May 2026. He succeeds Jess O'Brien, who led BDC from 2021 to early 2026 and helped build much of the organizational foundation Jackson now inherits. Board Chairman Rich Conte will also be on hand to celebrate the milestone.

Located in downtown Beaufort, the BDC runs BASEcamp, a vibrant tech incubator that offers:
