Monday, May 29 - Memorial Day

Beaufort's Annual Memorial Day Parade | 10 am | Downtown Beaufort | The annual Beaufort Memorial Day Parade is back, scheduled for Monday, May 29th at 10am. The parade will follow the traditional route along Boundary Street from Rogers Street, onto Carteret Street, Bay Street, and then back to Rogers Street ending at the Beaufort National Cemetery.
Memorial Day Ceremony | Noon | Beaufort National Cemetary 1601 Boundary Street Beaufort | Memorial Day is a day to remember and to be thankful for all those who have given their lives for our country. Those who have made the ultimate sacrifice so that our country and our lives could endure. There will be a keynote speaker to commemorate all those in the military who lost their lives in service to our Country.

Children's Auditions for THE SOUND OF MUSIC | 5:30 –7 pm | USCB Center for the Arts 805 Carteret St, Beaufort | Open to children ages 7 – 17, please bring your talented children out to audition to be part of this production. All attendees should be sure to bring a recent photo and arrive early to fill out paperwork on site. Participants will wait in the CFA lobby until his/her individual audition number is called. Use this time to practice your monologue and/or warm up your voice. Stay focused, relax, and encourage others! Break a leg!
Kayak Tours at the Maritime Center | Port Royal Sound Foundation (PRSF) | 310 Okatie Hwy Okatie | Join a PRSF Naturalist for a 2-hour guided kayak tour of the Chechessee River departing from the Maritime Center.

Dad's and Dudes First Friday Celebration | 5-8 pm | Cook on Bay 720 Bay Street | There will be many Food Trucks on Bay Street ready to serve you! Enjoy music by musician, Chris Jones, he’s an all-around entertainer!
June’s theme is “Dad & Dudes Downtown” with prizes from the downtown merchants. Make a purchase in any of the Participating Downtown Beaufort Merchant Association (DBMA) businesses and receive an entry to win a gift certificate. The drawing will be at the stage at 7:45pm.
Art Therapy Open House | 5-8 pm | 818 Bay Street | Emerge Counseling and Art Therapy (located above Sugarbelle and Lowcountry Real Estate) will be hosting a free experiential meet and greet to discover how to achieve emotional and physical well-being through art.
We will be painting oyster shells that will be hidden around town to spread joy, kindness, and a sense of community through creativity. There is no cost to participate, all ages are welcome and there is no registration or RSVPs are required. All materials will be provided.
CODEcamp: Game on Level 3 | 5:30 – 7:30 PM | Beaufort Digital Corridor 500 Carteret Street, Suite D, Beaufort | Ready to build your own new worlds? Learn essential coding skills for middle schoolers while constructing your own role-playing game! This course offers the basics of environment design and coding. Design your own sprite and bring them to life with animation frames, well-made coding scripts, and creative mathematics. No need to go at it alone - you will have a live instructor to help answer questions and debug your program. We recommend your student become familiar with Scratch prior to the course, as some tasks are intermediate. Cost is $30. Bring your own laptop. Light snacks will be provided.

2nd Annual Black Moses Freedom Festival | 6pm | Gullah Art Gallery and Museum 711 Bladen Street | Back for its second year, the Black Moses Freedom Festival (BMFF) is a 3-day Heritage, Health, and Wellness Festival celebrating Spirit, Ingenuity, and Liberation of people of color (POC). Kicking off Friday, June 6 through Sunday, June 8, the BMFF is an opportunity for organizations and local businesses to collaborate with the community through ideas that educate, focusing on local history, economic empowerment, transitioning to healthier life choices, agricultural sustainability, land ownership, art, and heritage to strengthen the community. Tickets are $10.

Sound Bath Facilitation Workshop | 10 am- 2pm | Energy Evolution 1000 Sea Island Parkway Saint Helena Island | Have you experienced the benefits of a Sound Bath and decided you want to lead your own sessions? This workshop is for you. Hosted by Wisdom Tree Healing Arts, in this hands-on workshop guests will play and learn all the history and how to conduct a sound bath, how to choose bowls and get hands on practice. Met Opera Encore: Don Giovanni | 1-5 pm | USCB Center for the Arts 805 Carteret St, Beaufort | Tony Award–winning director Ivo van Hove makes his Met debut with a new staging of Mozart’s tragicomedy Don Giovanni. Street Music on Paris Ave Summer series | 6pm | Paris Avenue Between 9th & 10 Street Port Royal | The Boneshakers (Unplugged) bring their award-winning funk and soul blues to a free outdoor concert in Old Town Port Royal. The annual series of performances, now in its 28th year, is held on Paris Avenue in the town’s downtown. As always, attendees should bring chairs and wear dancing shoes.
