Grab your tackle box and sunscreen—Beaufort’s waterfront is calling! The Junior Service League of Beaufort is hosting the inaugural Scales & Tails Kids Fishing Tournament on Saturday, April 5 from 10 AM to 2 PM at Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park, and it’s shaping up to be a day full of fun, friendly competition, and family memories.
This catch-and-release tournament is open to kids ages 12 and under.
For just $10 per child, participants receive free bait and a raffle entry for a chance to win exciting prizes. Families are asked to bring their own rods, reels, and tackle. Whether your child is a seasoned angler or just learning to cast, this is a fantastic way to enjoy Beaufort’s beautiful waterfront and introduce little ones to the joys of fishing.
No experience? No problem. The tournament is designed to be fun and accessible for all skill levels. And yes—it’s happening rain or shine!

All proceeds from the Scales & Tails Fishing Tournament go to support the Junior Service League of Beaufort (JSLB) and its mission to make a positive impact throughout Northern Beaufort County. JSLB is a volunteer-driven organization committed to promoting volunteerism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.
