Beaufort, South Carolina, is buzzing with excitement thanks to Project Freedom 326, a local community group that’s shaking things up with a fresh new event: Crash Out.

Happening Saturday, March 29 from noon to 3:00 p.m. this FREE event will take place in Sheldon at 75 William A. Campbell Road in Sheldon ages 13+.

Taking inspiration from Gen Z slang and those rage rooms you’ve probably seen in bigger cities, Crash Out is designed for teens (ages 13 and up) to let loose in a fun, controlled environment. It’s just one of many initiatives from Project Freedom 326 to give our youth a healthy, exhilarating way to release some of that pent-up stress and energy.

Why Teen Activities Matter in Beaufort

We all know Beaufort is a beautiful place, with spots like the Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park and the Kazoo Museum that the whole family can enjoy. But, let’s be real—when it comes to teen-friendly activities, the options are pretty limited. Without enough spaces or events specifically tailored to them, teens often end up looking for entertainment in places that might not be the best choice.

The Bigger Picture: Addressing Youth Gun Violence

Unfortunately, this gap in teen activities can lead to bigger issues. In South Carolina, firearms are the leading cause of death among kids and teens. The state had the 9th highest gun death rate in the country in 2022, and that number has been rising. Locally, Beaufort County saw its deadliest year in decades for gun violence in 2023. These stats highlight the urgent need for proactive solutions and positive outlets for area youth.

Project Freedom 326: Changing the Game

That’s where Project Freedom 326 (PF326) comes in. This group is all about offering our teens a safe space to express themselves, get active, and have fun—without the negative influences that can lead to trouble. Events like Crash Out are just one part of their ongoing mission to provide teens with a better way to release energy and frustrations.

What’s Crash Out All About?

Here’s the fun part. At Crash Out, teens get to step into a space where they can literally smash and break things—like old TVs, glass bottles, and other safe-to-smash objects. It’s a therapeutic way to let go of stress and frustration, all while having a blast. Don’t worry, safety gear and guidelines are provided to make sure everyone has a secure and enjoyable time.
