Saturday, March 22 | Step Back in Time: Children’s Day at the Arsenal

Join the Beaufort History Museum for a Revolutionary War Living History Reenactment on Craven Street in front of the Arsenal on Saturday, March 22, from 10 AM – 4 PM. Kids will be divided into Patriots and Loyalists to recreate the Battle of Port Royal Island, complete with authentic hats, safe musket replicas, and hands-on history lessons. Cannon firings at 10 AM, 12 PM, and 2 PM will kick off each battle!

This free, interactive experience—funded by the SC250 Commission—offers children the chance to learn drills, medical practices, musket loading (with black sugar and gummy balls), and cannon ballistics from expert historians. Saturday, March 29 | The 2025 Great Helicopter Easter Egg Drop

  • Date & Time: Saturday, March 29, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM
  • Location: Beaufort Academy Football Field, 240 Sams Point Road, Beaufort, SC 29907
  • Details: This community event features the dropping of 19,500 plastic Easter eggs from a helicopter. Children aged 1-12 can participate in age-specific egg hunts. Pre-registration is required, and tickets will not be available at the door.
