The Language of Clay: Catawba Indian Pottery & Oral Traditions Exhibition - March 2
Immerse yourself in the single most unbroken material tradition of the Catawba Nation's rich history, where pottery making continues with techniques passed down through generations. This extraordinary exhibition showcases clay pottery pieces crafted by talented Catawba artisans, spanning from the 19th century to the present day, each piece a living testament to various Catawba traditions and legends. Suggested $5 donation featuring a talk with Dr. Stephen Criswell, Director of the Native American Studies Center. Catawba Artist Beckee Garris will give a pottery demonstration. Details here.

Books Sandwiched In Now Through March 11

The 2024 Books Sandwiched In Series, presented by Friends of the Beaufort Library, continues each Monday through March 11 from noon to 1 p.m. at USCB Center for the Arts.
Each week a community leader will discuss a book that has had an impact on them, followed by a rich discussion and Q&A about the book.

3rd annual Cyber Summit
set for March 18-19
The South Coast Cyber Center will hold its third annual Cyber Summit in Beaufort on March 18-19 at Tabby Place in downtown Beaufort.
This year’s summit will highlight “Maritime Cybersecurity” with presentations by internationally recognized experts in the field of cybersecurity as it affects our ports, ships, and ability to move goods around the world.
The summit will feature U.S. Rep. Nancy Mace (1st District, S.C), who is chair of the House Oversight Committee’s Subcommittee on Cybersecurity and Information Technology. Other highlights will include a noon keynote on March 18by Brigadier Gen. Will Wilburn, U.S. Marine Corps, incoming deputy commander of Marine Corps Cyberspace Command.
